Project/ Lapbook about The Inuits

Yesterday I helped H work on a project for school and thought I would share the resources here.

*The seal image & the clothing image he got from searching google images. He drew the Inukshuk in the middle from google images because it thought it looked cool & he included the meaning of the Inukshuk beside it (he googled that as well)*

CRESTED GECKO LAPBOOK

K and I spent this week working on a crested gecko lapbook and we are both very pleased with how it turned out.

Above is a picture of the beginning stages when we were figuring out how we wanted to make the folds. We ended up using 2 file folders and gluing them together.

Here is K making a pocket for the inside flap to place the "crested gecko quiz" in.

 

I am definitely going to be adding lapbooking to our routine more often. K responds well to anything that is hands on & he had fun & learned a lot this week from this lapbook!

 

Now I need to figure out what to make next! ;)

Lapbooking about Crested Geckos

Last week K made a Lapbook about Crested Geckos.
I took some online photos of crested geckos & printed a few out for him to cut & paste onto his lapbook. Then I typed up a few questions about crested geckos & got him to answer them.  Some of this required google (his big brother & I both helped out with this as he does not use google on his own yet).

I let him decided how much he was willing to write (he never enjoys writing much)  He was happy to take some pictures of our new gecko eggs to add to the lapbook.
 He had  a lot of fun making his lapbook & he is always proud to show them off when he is finished :) 

Lapbook about friendship, respect & the importance of family

 For a little while we have been struggling with K to keep his hands to himself. It is a daily battle between him & his older brother and K often gets out of hand (with his dad as well...especially in public!)

 

Since K has really become interested in making lapbooks lately I thought maybe getting him to create a lapbook addressing this behaviour might be helpful.  The book also touches on   friendship,  respect & the importance of family.

 

K really enjoyed making his lapbook (I helped him to fill in the blanks) I really enjoyed spending the time with him to go over the questions (they ask  things like what he thinks it takes to be a good friend) . He loves reading it with his dad & I and I am really hoping it helps him to be a little less hands on!

Nursery Rhymes Lapbook

 Little M LOVES Nursery rhymes  so when I saw this on Pinterest I couldn't wait to print it out & make it with her!   
 

 I left room at the bottom of the first page so I can add her name :)

 
I used a lot of what was there but some of them I left out & I did decide to add a couple of my own. Little M's favorite's are "Eensy Weensy spider" & "row row row your boat" so I typed those up & added them to her lapbook, along with "5 little ducks" because it is a fun one to sing.

 She LOVES her lapbook & asks to read it daily. My daycare kids love it as well!
